Three Williams, Redfern

Probably one of the most talked about,
Three Williams have their big sellouts,
And here I say with a pout,
I did not try any on my day out.

I know right, who goes to Three Williams and does not try either of their narnie or French toast brioche?! And to call myself a foodie, psh! It’s almost like going to Max Brenner and not having their chocolate, wait … I may have done that before too. Ok, so I am probably weird … but in my defense, the mother and I had ventured to Three Williams bright and early so a narnie was not yet available and both weren’t ready for something quite so sweet … yet.

Chai tea $3.50 | Hot chocolate $3.50

So, we started with some beverages. Not sure if you all remember but the mother is very pedantic about her hot chocolate, being … well, very hot. And she is pleased with this here at Three Williams, which is always a bonus, as she isn’t very into hipster cafes but with a daughter that loves these things, it’s the inevitable she needs to accompany her at times of calling.

Corn fritters $18

The corn fritters had everything I wanted potatoes, bacon and well, the corn fritters! Bacon, everyone loves bacon, right? Cooked perfectly, and it was crispy! BONUS POINTS! The potatoes were just what my body was craving for. I loved the pan-fried corn fritters, and the tomato and capsicum salsa offered a great sour peppery touch.

Scrambled eggs on toast $11

The mother ordered scrambled eggs on toast, she usually loves her toast burnt for that nice charcoal flavour however I must say, the toast was … really burnt to the point where even the mother did not seem satisfied with it. Though the eggs were nice and fluffy.

Pretty sure, aside from the fact that the toast was burnt, the hot chocolate being as hot as it was had already won points in the mother’s books. Because in all honesty, the mother has hit a point of not ordering it anymore to save herself from disappointment.

So, do you have something you enjoy yet have always been disappointed? And have you ever been to a place and not ordered their famous dishes?

  3. Oh no, what a shame and burnt toast is definitely not on. Burning would ruin it :(
